. Those are simply amazing. I like #3 the most, but all are just incredible. I am so glad you went back to the Koroits again. It's hard to believe something like that came from random geological events. Steve

Whowee! Love them all but that fourth one takes the cake! Amazing shine - I thought the matrix didn't take a nice polish?? Is b-opal always in the same type of matrix???
I'm speechless on that fourth one - Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally love it!

Holy Smokes, those are amazing...I can honestly see any of those going for top dollar at a fine jewelry boutique. Great job.

Man that stuff is amazing. I really like the contrast between the 'boulder matrix' and the flash of the opal... it just sets it off...makes it pop! Keep 'em coming!

Gee, I really like the 1st one, just that little hint of flash at the bottom. I've bid on quite a bit of oubla's rough, but some butthead keeps outbidding me. S

Thanks everyone. Tweetie, the matrix will shine if it is hard enough. I find that the lighter the matrix, the softer it is and just wont shine at all. Also, if you spend a little more time on the finer grit belts, you'll have more success at getting it to shine up. I've got a bunch more slabs cut and will be cutting more cabs in the next few days. San Jose's largest crafts fair is happening this weekend and I plan on taking these and a bunch of my other cabs with me to try and hook up with some of the jewelry vendors. Who knows, I may find an outlet for my cabs and make some money for all my work.

When the pics were loading, I saw the top half of #1 . . . hmmmmmm. Got my attention. But you saved the best for last. Can't wait to see the rest.
