I have no idea what type of stone these first 2 are, some kind of dendritic agate, but it is the hardest stone I've ever tried to cab. I usually do all my shaping of a freeform cab on the 80g wheel, but I had to take this piece back to the saw to shape it. It was almost polished coming off the 600 belt! Anyway, here they are. 22x16mm 34x20mm Those aren't pits on the face of the cab, they're dendrites. A couple of Montana agates with some dendrites 20mm 25x18mm And another poppy jasper with some different colors than the usual. 32x15mm Thanks for looking.

Ya, that poppy has different color, too cool. Ed, youve cut Bruneau jasper, i find those do the same thing. And when i frist started cabbing in the mid 90's. I would only take cabs to 600, and would mostly only work agates or jasper that would look finished like Bruneau at that stage. Thanks for sharing.

Damn Kim, you've got a great memory. Yes, I did get that slab from the rock show. I just came across it under a bunch of other slabs and decided to try cabbing it. I never would have guessed it to be so hard because a lot of the white part feels kinda chalky. Whatever it is though is really nice. I have another slab of the same stuff that I got in a box of slabs from Toad a while back.
