Here's my latest batch. I know I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd go all out with this batch. I think in the future, I'll keep it down to smaller numbers. I did all these a few weeks ago before our trip, so they're not new. Here's the whole lot. This is one of my favorite batches because I used unusual shapes I like. I hope you enjoy them. Steve I think I just can't bring myself to do normal shaped cabs: Rutilated quartz. I had to pay particular attention to polishing the backs They turned out great and I like the inclusions: If I was one of those artsy types, I'd call this my "stuff in quartz" phase. This time, it's tourmaline in quartz: Here they are held up to the light: Dryhead agate and Bruneau jasper. Here's an actual oval! Wow! This stuff takes an amazing polish too: Amethyst sage agate and kids. (I may have posted this one already. That or have a very similear shaped one I did a while ago) Now the poppies! I can't get enough of this stuff. These two came from the same rock and are remaribly fracture-free for their size. Here's a cool kite shape and roundy: Here's more Morgan Hill jasper. #2 has a matching friend who turned out to be a cabo-gonner, so I'm going to cut him a new buddy next time around. More poppies? OK! This time it's Guadalupe jasper. The second one turned out to have a crack but when you are dealing with this stuff, you go with it anyway.

Oh Man, all of those are incredible stunners!!! (Hey Ed, watch out, you got rocklicker nipping at your tail, challenging for cab-king!) The more the merrier, IMO.

Very nice Steve. Nice choice of stones. You did a great job on the quartz and I know what you mean about paying special attention to the backs of those. Any scratches on the back really show up. Man, between you, Pete, and myself, we're going to saturate the Bay Area market with cabs. And when Cal gets his Genie going and cranking out cabs, wow, all within 75 miles! Love the new shapes too. I actually got the Opticon to work on those fractured poppy jaspers I did recently so you might consider trying it on yours too. Send me a PM if you want more info on the Opticon.

Indeed Steve, what a fine batch of cabs. The Rulite and Tourmalinated came out nice! And good call on polishing the backs on those. I find thats important for such clear stones. Those last 2 photos of Poppies are real fine too! Thanks for sharing.

Steve, WOWWWY!!! Those are all super and I love the different shapes. The last group of Poopies is extrodinary...I like those colors! I'm still trying to win some rutilated quartz on e-bay because I've always thought that stuff is too cool. Thanks for sharing your cabs... Steve

They're all great, RL. That group shot is mighty impressive. The rutilated quartz win by a head.

Outstanding material...I love the rutilated quartz...I bought a doubly rutilated quartz pendant from Banjo and it is one of my wife's favorite pieces.

Thanks guys! I like the rutilated quartz ones too. Definety a challenge, but one I would do again! That was one of my funnest batches. Maybe I will start up a "stuff in quartz" phase after all. Steve
