A brief history of me and rocks. I went on vacation to New Mexico and found a rock. Loved it! My wife has a tumbler so I tumbled it. Loved it even more. But.... it ....takes..... so..... long .... to ...... tumble! Then... I found this site .. CABS are Great!! Thanks to all of you that have posted pics of your cab work. Thanks to all of you that are willing to share your knowledge and enthusiasm for this hobby (?).( Passion would be a better description.) AND Shame on all of you for making me buy "Bigfoot" and all the stuff it takes for cabbing. Yep, I did it, and I love everything about it. Again, thanks for all you do!!!!!!!!! Don the Mailman oh yeah.... I don't know the type of rocks but here's my cabs

Wow, those are great! SO Now you are hooked huh!! Good, you'll like this hobby. I think the green cabs look like plasma agate, I have some of that same material, I will find a slab and post a picture of it. Be careful working with that stuff, I found out it contains cinnabar or a mettacinnabar so be sure your using a lot of water when your cutting it. Those wheels/saws can get it hot enough to vaporize the mercury and the fumes are deadly. I may have the name wrong but it's definitely the same material as what we have so use caution. Man, for a beginner your cutting some mighty fine pieces. Great job!

OOOOOOOH, you have a Bigfoot? and you like it? I like the size of it!
I'm still saving for a cabber, but haven't decided between Bigfoot or Pixie.

Hey mailman, welcome to the addiction. Man, it didn't take you long to switch from tumbling to cabbing, and it looks like cabbing agrees with you well. Very nice set of cabs. Hope you stick around and keep posting more of your work. It only gets easier and better from here.

HI Don, Finally found a picture of the material I was talking about in my first post, I am 99% sure it's the same as your 3 green cabs.

Looks like you've offically a rockhound. Great job on the cabs. Before you know it you'll have all these rock names in your head hopefully you'll be better than me at keeping straight what name goes with what stone. KimJ
