Actually, not exactly new, because I posted in the wire working board 2 days ago. ;D But I'm a cabber first, wire is something I just learned, to DO something with my cabs! Here are 3 I did last night on my Genie: The one on the left was a really interesting pocket of agate on a Rainforest Jasper slab. The middle is my favorite, Ocean Jasper, and the one on the right is some red Jasper from my stash. I love seeing everyones cabs here! I wanted to join in too...

Thanks everyone! I took a 2 hour class in 2004 at the Craft Center here, and since I had wanted to do it for sooo long, went whole hog for about 1/2 a year, but then my hands broke into a red rash that wouldn't go away!! I had to stop completely, and it took about a year for my hands to clear up. I just started up again this last week. I MUST make sure I limit my time on my Genie, and maybe do it once a week.
hmmph. Sure. I just bought a 10" saw on ebay that should get here next week. And I'm eyeing another 16" on there too...and there are two Rock and Mineral shows coming up in November I plan on going to. :-)'''

Welcome to the board deedolce, isnt cabbing lots of fun. And such a fast reward when cutting rocks. I would have to say the OJ is my fav there too, but all three have very nice shapes. Thanks for sharing.

Nice cabs all around, but OJ is perhaps my favourite stone, and that cab is a real killer. -Don

Yes, OJ is my favorite stone, ever! The range of colors, those orbs floating, its like an underwater world all it's own! dee Absolutely! ... IMO, there's not much out there that can challenge a top-grade piece of ocean jasper. (Some of those California poppy jaspers can give it a good run though ;D). I'm exclusively a tumbler, not a cabber, but if you check the "members photos" section in about a week, I hope to have some pics of some No. 1 ocean jasper that I've been babying along in my tumblers for more months than I even care to remember! -Don

Another OJ pick here. The OJ you posted on the wire wrap page was terrific too.

Very nice cabs. I love the shapes you came up with. Welcome to the board, nice to see another California cabber. What part of the state are you in? There are 3 of us that are cutting cabs here in the SF Bay Area, and possibly a 4th, but we haven't heard from him since he bought a Genie!
