I bought a Bigfoot in September from 4Facets.com for $970. I also ordered the trim saw attachment at the same time ($100) It arrived on the 4th day after placing the order. It is absolutely GREAT!!!
When it’s closed up it’s 12”x6”x6” with 2 diamond wheels and 2 nova wheels mounted. The other 2 nova wheels are stored in an easy access side storage area .I was concerned that the changing of the wheels would become a major pain but it really is no hassle. Removing the mounted wheels and replacing them with the others takes less than 10 second. No tools required . Attaching the trim saw is just as easy (maybe 15 seconds). It has two pieces; arbor with blade and a metal table. It also doesn’t require any tools to attach. The saw replaces the two nova wheels . The unit also comes with a nova pad and 1 oz.12000 grit diamond paste.. This pad threads into the end of nova wheels. It’s what I used for the final polish in the pictures I posted in “Introduce myself”. I intended to order the flat lap attachment but I forgot. I’ll have to order it this week.
I set up at the kitchen counter and place a small towel underneath it The motor is quiet and seems powerful enough to do the job. The mess is very minimal, mostly to the sides when using either end wheel. The geyser spray work very well and keeps the spray mostly within the water tray area. The towel gets wet but it collects what little mess it makes. My wife likes that part.
The flexible shaft light is bright enough but the shaft should be a little longer. I can’t get it exactly where I would like it to be. The lens is so close to the wheel that it gets splashed and has to be wiped off about every hour.
It’s not a Geni but it’s exactly what I expected and what I wanted. I retire soon (?) and will be in a 36’ 5th wheel so the size and weight are VERY important to me I liked the Pixie because the 6wheels all mount at once but the Bigfoot allows the attachments that I need and the Pixie doesn’t. (space and weight again.)
To everyone that has posted to this site: Thank you, thank you thank you!!! I have been lurking this site since February and have spent hundreds of hours reading old posts and learning how to cab and what is possible to create . You’re a great group!!
