nice display rack although I'm surprised you didn't make it yourself. The blue moss agate is my fav, I haven't seen blue moss before, where did you get it? All the cab look great and its good to see you posting some cab shots again.

Stefan, glad to see you cabbing again! - missed your stuff. For the display, I say good deal, I'd be inclined to angle the shelves and put a small ledge on it so the cabs are propped up on it and on display
just my 0.00002 cents

HEHE Dusting- Well I have been looking for a display shelf for a year now- I found some real nice ones (at $199 each)- so this was a good compromise- It is not perfect (yea I want to tilt it a bit or cut a grove so I can prop up the cabs) But It will do for now!!! As far as making one- Well my talents with wood go as far as being able to cut firewood with a chainsaw- and split it-

stefan nice job on the cabs. i've got to try an aventurine one at some point. the blue moss and the 1st crazy lace are my favorites. if you remember i almost busted my nose dusting spheres awhile back. here was my solution and anyone that does woodwork could easily make one of these. i found the case in the attic and was told it looked like an old display case for a bug collection. i took the measurements and asked a man to make me a slide in shelving system. shame of it is i found 2 of these and left the other one in the attic when i moved. wish i had it now! kim

HEHEH Sorry I missed some Questions- The blue Moss is from Steve Holmes- I think he got it when he was in oreagon- It is a bugger to work because it is pretty fractured- but well worth the effort- As for dusting- Well this hangs in my workshop- and we all know that workshops NEVER get dusty- But I bought one of those Swifter thingys- just in case- Cause as my wife was so kind to point out- It's my shop- I have to deal with it (yea it can get messy sometimes).

Stefan, Your cabs are all nice. My fav would be the blue moss too. However, how is that blue moss? It sure looks like agate to me, a gray blue type. I don’t see any moss in it? I would go as far as saying its just chalcedony. You can even see some banding which would be atypical of the stuff, but not moss agate. You know how i am with names, and all to often i keep my mouth shut on this baord becasue noone likes being corrected. even though i do.

You know what that case reminds me of? IKEA has a table where the top section has "boxes" that you can display your wares in and a glass over top - hubby looked at me and said "You could display your rocks in there" kinda took me by surprise, as he's not one to comment on anything - it's his way of saying he's proud of me (has to be!) - We passed on it as we still have a small son who climbs anything and would seriously get hurt on that table, but I'm still keeping it in the back of my mind...

Shain- I got this stuff from another memeber and he stated it was Blue Moss (he got it from an old rock hound in Oreagon who self collected it I believe) So you may be correct in your observations- I Call it Blue Moss cause that is what I was told it is- I have only cut some of what I have- and I have not come across any inclusions-
