The one on the left was from a bin of $.50 slab bits and pieces from the Rock Shop in nearby Vacaville. The center is a low dome OJ, and the one on the right...I don't know! It was from a basket of tumbled something. Okay, okay, I need to be better about keeping track of what it is. ;D Oh well, a great excuse to go back to the Rock Shop. Oh my, a huge building with crystals that go up to my waist, stone and rock everywhere! Boxes of geodes, baskets of goodies, tons of agate and everything in between. It's been there forever.

It's along hwy 80 at 5115 Quinn Road. The hours are a bit odd, 10-4:30, Tuesday through Saturday, and Sunday from 11-4. You would take the Leisure Town Road/Vaca Valley off ramp, or so sez the postcard/business card I picked up yesterday. Been there since 1952! Bought this OJ cube there for $30. The sides are about 1.25" - I got it thinking to slice it into druzy capped cabs, but I may not. It's beautiful!!

Nice job on those cabs Dee. I've heard about the Vacaville rockshop, but never been there. It sounds like a cool place. There's another cool rockshop north of Santa Rosa on hwy 101, near the town of Hopland. It's a little bit far for you, but next time you go to the north coast, check it out. You can't miss it, it's right along the freeway and there is a big sign just before the off ramp that says, "Rock shop, next exit"

Thanks Stoner! I don't often get that far North, but if I do, I'll have to check it out. I found that the green stone is very easily marred by my tools when I was wrapping it. I'm hoping now that it's set, it'll be okay as a piece of jewelry.

Nice Stuff- THe green is really nice- I was thinking chrysoprase also- but again it is pretty light in color- hmm easily marred well that would fit in with the chrysoprase- I don't think Beryl would easily mare- not sure about Aquamarine
