Had more fun at the Rock shop. The left is Fluorite on top and blue lace agate on the bottom, both from tumbled rock baskets. Then 2 more OJ. Then some goldstone, green that was a freebie from a slab I got from ebay. It sparkles nicely, that didn't photograph at all. My daughter claimed that one! I finally used my new/old saw last night! Big fun, BIG oil mess. I think I put too much oil in there? My arms were dripping, it splattered all over my clothes and the ground. The one I'm used to using at the club shop used water, so this was an experience. Um, should I have so much oil splashing everywhere?? It's a 10" old Highland Park.

Cripes, even more 10/21, than I promise to stop! This is called 'avoiding doing report cards...' The ones on the left are chalcedony, the top from a chunk I got from the club rockyard, the bottom from a tumbled rock basket, then a little nodule of amethyst I sliced in half to wrap, below that is from a tumbled rock of chrysacolla, then far right is a reshaped crystal cluster from the 50 cent basket. The Vacaville Rock Shop rocks!! ~dee

Dee: You really only need the oil level to be maybe a half inch or so up on the blade but my 10" saw throws oil so much I prefer to trim with the Workforce using water and use the other for cutting smaller rocks with the hood on to avoid being drenched on that darn oil....mel

I googled a Workforce 7" wet tile saw, is that what you have? You can use water without battling rust?? Sometimes I just need to trim of a little, and don't want to start up 'The Monster' - that would perfect. And water too! How well does the 7" Workforce work on the hard agates and jaspers?

Dee, if you use water, use a rust inhibitor with it. Or you will get rust. YOu could also be diligant about cleaning out the water and oiling the balde and shaft after every use, without an rust inhibitor. Nice cabs btw. I like working Druzy and you did a fine job on that Amethyst. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone! The feedback is really cool, and so is seeing everyone's work. And I have so many questions, I really appreciate the time and generosity people give on this board!
