I have seen a couple of references to Diamond paste and have found a 6 piece set of tubes for sale on the internet.
I do ok on shaping cabs, I haven't shown any as they are not polished yet. That is my problem, I tried the 5 step polishing compounds with cloth dremel pads, the results were less than satisfactory. What I am looking for is a polishing system that I can use with a Dremel tool. I will be making leather pads the first of the week, will the diamond paste do what I want it to?
Yeah, yeah I know, use a vibe. I am afraid that is not a option right now and maybe never.
Thanks for any help

you may find this artical useful www.lapidaryjournal.com/stepbystep/july04.cfm I haven't used dimond paste, but have gotten good finishes with felt cones and AO polish (the same stuff I use in my tumblers). For odd shapes, use a length from a bambo skewer and load it with grit paste for the stage you are at. This will let you get into some very tight spaces, that a wheel will not go. The little rubber drums and the sandpaper covers are ok for the grind stages on convex surfaces. When the sandpaper covers wear out, load them with a grit/water paste. you can use the green stone grinding tips and dimond burrs to shape. I have reworked stones and polished the insides of large holes in stones, it just takes a little time. Bill

I hadn't thought about using wood, very interesting! If that works why couldn't someone take a half inch dowel, find exact center, imbed a 1/8 shaft, then taper down the other end to make a one size fits all tool to polish inside corners? Great, thanks a lot yogi I'll be thinking about this all night!! No really, thanks.

I used the diamond paste on a piece of leather to polish opal. It worked great. I did it by hand. Leather is a great way to polish. Tonja
