Ok, don't laugh at it!!! But this is my first cab semi polished. It is Obsidian and I had a hell of a time hand polishing it so I threw it in a 500 batch then to polish with the rest of the mix. Yes it is shiney, but lacks the deep look. I first made a oval somewhere around 40x20 decided I wanted a tear drop so made one. It measures 27x15 with the dome at 10 mm. I couldn't be happier with proportions, and how it survived all these weeks in a rotary tumbler with rocks twice it's size I will never know.   The second picture is the flat side, I include it because of the shadow from the dome the first looks cockeyed. So really I did do one thing right. |

Thank you Kim, I was starting to think it was the worst thing to come down the pike. The oval would have probably gotten a better review, but just as the oval was done the love (lost) of my life called and we talked and laughed like we do about three times a week, I haven't touched her hand in twelve years or seen her face in five, and I miss her terribly. Thus the tear drop was born. I think I will find a cap to fit it and wear it under my shirt myself.

Looks great!! I just did a piece of obsidian in my last batch just to see what would happen. I'm gonna throw a handful in my next batch, the vibe worked some magic on it.

It looks great, especially for your first cab. I remember my first cab, and wish I didn't! Try an agate for your next cab, they take a shine fairly easily.
