It was raining so instead of sitting in front of the TV with cocoa or wire-wrapping with a purring cat nearby I was freezing my butt off in the garage cabbing away. After 4 hours of saws and the grinder going the warmth of the motors takes the chill off. That was nice. Here's the results. Sorry for the bad photo quality. They are much shinier than you see. Anway, hope you enjoy them. Steve Breciated jasper. This stuff is cool because these little dark partially cyystalized "plates" show up when you polish. You never know what you are going to get: Morgan Hill Jasper: Crazy lace agate: Blue lace agate. Small but has neat patterns: Morgan Hill Jasper. It turns out that the dark part is made of clear quartz so you can see into the stone and see the poppies floating. Morgan Hill Jasper.

I know what you mean about freezing your butt off cabbing in the garage, I did the same. I got a little smart today though, I filled my water supply with water right out of the hot water heater. That worked okay until it cooled off. Nice cabs Steve. I really like the brecciated jasper. And of course the MHPJ.

I think that Crazylace is my fav too. All ncie though! Another heater trick if you have a pump and seperate water res for your grinder. An Aquarium heater. As when i lived at my folks place i worked on rocks on their back porch. And though we live in a Desert. in the winter time is gets cold. So working outside with water was friutless unless it could be heated. As hot water would get cold within a few minutes, but water that is consantly heated doesnt.

1. Insulate your garage. Quick and easy with modern insulation, maybe a days work if you want to cover it. Anybody can do it, it's not that expensive, and it makes crummy work areas cozy.
2. Get yourself a little portable heater. Woodworker supply companies have nice little models you can hang from the ceiliing, just run an extension cord in.
3. Turn out some more of those gorgeous, gorgeous cabs for us to drool over! That's the kind of work that gets me fired up, it's all about brilliant colors, wonderful patterns, smooth lines and perfect symmetry.
Nice work!

great job on the cabs, the 1st 2 and the crazy lace are my favs. You need to move your grinder indoors, then your never too hot or too cold. Mine is set up in my office, I often do some cabbing as my lunch break.
