Wow, this stuff is really cool. It's kind of like working with boulder opal in that there are different minerals that grind differently but blend together really well to create a cab with a lot of contrast. The picture really doesn't show it off very well. There will be more of these coming, maybe even one for a naming contest.

That is one heck of a colored rock! Did you do that with a grinder or a set of Crayolas? Just kidding, that's an awesome cab!

Wow, don't think I've ever seen so many colors in one rock, Ed. And looking at the other pieces (in the rough pic) they're all gonna be outrageous!

I knew that you would make something great out of the stuff you got on your trip. Speaking of boulder opal you never sent me any pics?

Thanks everyone. I got this stuff from the "Mini-Mart" in Las Cruces. The lady said she had quite a bit of it until a couple of months ago when someone from back east bought all of it. The pieces I got were ones that were laying here and there and mixed in with other types of rock, and they're all fairly small, but I should be able to get some nice cabs from it.

Nice job Ed, small rough can be the better way to by this type of material. All too often the different mineral combos natural break down. So if its small, it usally means its broken down as far as it would go without further help for mother natural, like water or wind.
