Howdy folks, here's a few pieces I finished. Thanks for looking ....mel Made this pendant and a jade pendant for my mom. She kept the jade but didn't like the fossils even though they're from her home state of Texas. This is Crinoidal Limestone with stem sections and some coral from the CB Lambert Ranch, San Saba, Texas. Stone is a 30 x 40. A very fine structured 30 x 40 red moss from Horse Canyon, Tehachapi, CA Finally, this ones for me, 30 x 40 African Queen Picture Jasper bolo slide

LOL - the crinoidal limestone looks like something about to eat me! My, what big teeth you have...
But I love the other two. Did you do your own settings or are they purchased?

*LOL* My mom thought the first one looked like bones ( of course they are skeletons). Guess she thought it was scary too. Myself, I thought that critter remains like 300 million or so years old were pretty cool.
arkansan: Those are all store bought settings. I barely have skills enough to set stones in those, much less make my own. Learning to silversmith is on my 'to do" list if I ever have the time....mel

Hey Mel, I really like the crinoidal limestone piece. Partly because I really like that fact that I know what it really is, and second, I know how much it takes to make what you made from that kind of rock. I would find that piece to be the most special.

I've never heard of crinoidal limestone, but honestly, I'm pretty sure that's the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Mel - Guess your mom's not big on starry-eyed freaky-lookin' alien thingies with sharp teeth, but it's one cool lookin' cab. The setting is perfect for it. And you'll be one spiffed-up dude wearing that bolo. (hint - updated 'this is me' pic)

KD: I've had those findings for awhile but most my stuff comes from Eloxite Corp. I think their website is www.eloxite.com. I also get some stuff from www.kingsleynorth.com so they might be from there too....mel

Mel, Great work there! I don't blame your Mom and you can't either for turning down the 1st one. She just didn't want to frighten the grandkids away...that is pretty scary with the fangy teeth and wicked setting. I like em' all though....you should post more of your work. Steve
