Today's the 22nd? I better go get my Christmas shopping done! Well, this first cab is another gift for my wife so that's one less thing I have to buy. 25x18 Malachite The next 2 are from a small nodule of Laguna agate I bought in NM. 34x14mm 28x12mm Red Horn Coral 16mm And a flowery piece of Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper. This piece is what this material is all about. Fractured flowers! I sealed these fractures with super glue and it worked better than Opticon. 40x25mm Merry Christmas everyone.

Don't forget the chain to go with the pendant when you're out shoppin', Ed. Beautiful cab . . . nice to see a malachite with straight lines for a change.

Those are all terrific Ed! I like them all. That's a really nice heavy cinch mount on the malachite cab. Do you remember where you got it? All the ones I seem to see now are very flimsy and thin .....mel

Accept no substitutes! These are genuine Stoner's and I love 'em. When you sealed the Jasper, did you coat the stone with the glue or did you soak it? Or something completely different?

Thanks everyone. Rich, I picked up the chain today. Mel, I get the cinch mounts at my local rock shop and I think they get them from Rio Grande. Joe, on this stone, the fracture was pretty bad and went all the way through to the back of the stone. I warmed up the stone to dry it out, then while it was still warm I used the quick set(5seconds) glue, which is thin like water, and applied two coats over the area of the fracture. Then I used some medium set glue(5-15 seconds) which is thicker and then hit it with the accelerator. I was pushing fairly hard against the wheels and it held.

Thanks Ed, I'm not surprised that's where those findings come from. Rio Grande had good stuff!. I'll have to get one of their catalogs...mel

I love that MHPJ. I mean, I love them all, but that MHPJ is really striking.

Thanx Ed! My one attempt at putting super glue on a hot rock was a disaster!! The rock was too hot and the glue burned. That stuff smells bad enough when it isn't burning. When it is... yuccchhh. I'll have to try it again with a cooler rock.
