Well, after all these years, and tons of Obsidian cutting I finally found my first FIRE Obsidian, wasn't expecting that, but this stuff is cool. The picture don't come close to showing the true effect. The best I can describe the effect is a very thin sheet of multi-colored foil under the clear Obsidian. It soooooo cool. Check out online how much cabs of this go for. TTYS, KOR, Dan www.dbrockwerks.comKOR Dan

Wow! That stone is super kewl! Is it just the lighting that makes the fire show up in one spot or is fire actually clear across the face of the stone when lighted differently?.....mel

Hi Everyone, Thanks, I'm stoked about the find. Wasn't even in my mind to find Fire! Mell, The Fire is pretty much one spot, it has a pretty big range of movement, but when the light is right, it just looks like black obsidian, but can see parts of the fire thru about 40° of movement. The brighter the light the better. I was hoping for a sunny day to photo it in the full sun, but in Oregon, this time of year, that's a dream. We have a week of rain forecast. :-) Thanks again, KOR, Dan

Very nice indeed, and you put a great shine on it too. Here's a link to the fire obsidian mine in Oregon, for anyone who wants to see more fire obsidian. It's very pricy stuff retail, at $5 per carat! -Don www.goldnuggetwebs.com/Dryfire/index.html

Hi Everyone, Thanks! South Fork Mining, I'm don't know anything about if it is only found in Mahogany or not. This was found in a chunk of Midnight Lace, which as you know has spots of Mahogany. The cab has NO Mahogany on it. It was just a bubble? of fire about the size of a half dollar. Sure would like to find more. KOR Dan
