I finished these up late on the 1st and only today had a chance to take pictures, sadly I think my camera may be dying, as the little gears that adust the lens are making some nasty noises and the pictures are not coming out as clear as I used to see. Here are a couple of cabs that aren't so flashy; a fancy gold plume stuff I got from stoner; a nice piece of self-collected Lavic Siding Jasper and a bit more flash here with a spencer opal triplet and finally a few andamooka matrix opal doublets that suffered from cloudy adhesive, so I think these will wind up being flattened as back sides and I'll try to get a better cap on the opposite sides, as this color runs through the material, but it does not take a very good polish by itself; But this material is really pretty, hopefully my next effort will come out a lot clearer, and maybe I'll have a better camera....

Very nice Rally. Nice opals, I'm sure you can fix them. What kind of glue did you use?

I like the opals also, but the shape of the first piece is very cool!

Too bad the camera's on the fritz, Rally, but they still look nice. Hope you post 'em again with the new camera, especially the gold plume and the Lavic.

Hey my camera did that for a while- turned out there was some grit that got blown in at the beach... camera shop cleaned it out and workes great again.

Well I broke down and bought a new camera anyway, the old one still works most of the time, but it was getting a bit flakey, and the new one is half as big, uses half as many batteries to take more than twice as many pictures with 3 times the pixel count.
I'll post a couple of re-shoots to show the difference...
