man .. I love those little nuggets you find... too bad about the breakage. Have you thought about stabalizing a few before grinding? I've never done it myself but from what I've read.. if it's done right it can make a huge difference. Might be worth a try..!

nice job crack or no crack but that number 3 is my fav. Hey look at this way, if it were baseball you'd be batting 417 which is great, maybe a stronger dop wax or a gentler hand? I don't know, I've never dopped.

#3 is from ''the hallow'' we call it.Its easy to work with.Robert the last two are from the same spot as the one you bought.I ended up useing super glue on 3 of the four.I think I will use a stablizer when I make an cabs to help hide the cracks. Roger

Too bad about all the fractures, Roger. Just means you get to go back and find the better ones. #2 and #3 look great, and that last one looks a lot like Mexican lace.

Those are really nice Roger. I had the same problem with th ones you sent me, they just kept breaking and getting smaller and smaller. The material if gorgeous when you get a piece that you can get a decent size cab though. It's kind of like the poppy jasper from around here, lots of fractures, but when you get a good piece, man, it sure makes for a stunning cab.

Roger, SWEEET! I love the bandings and patterns. How often do you go out and hunt for these and how far away are you? The last one reminds me of crazy lace, #2 is my fav...but love the reds in 3 and 4. Steve

Steve.I try to go hunt every week, however its starting to snow here so the ground is starting to freeze just makes it a little tougher to dig.The latest area is south west of Pringle SD in the thirty to forty year ago they dug agates out of this area.we went back and went down another foot the agates have been plenyfull. Thanks for the compliments as you can tell I got agate fever bad.Roger Clarks FAIRBURN AGATE book tells all about these places. He is a good friend.
