Nice job Joe - I've never seen travertine before - you live and learn on the board!

Thank you all! I feel real good about all of these. Shhh Kim! I'll never tell!! I don't know about the word "expert" and me being in the same sentence! Not yet anyway. I'm not up to the Stoner Standard yet. Someday. Florida sounds good after all this snow. Real good. Thanx all!

I'm intrigued with the thunder eggs. I keep seeing them mentioned here and there, and have wondered what, exactly, they are. When I googled Thunder Eggs, I found places to buy, a brief reference in Wikipedia, other non-related stuff, but no real info. My brother swears they are dino turds. I am curious as to how they are formed, and out of what, specifically? I'm wondering if they are similar to amber? Are they fossils? (When you hold them up to the light, your examples look like biological specimans!). Or, are they simply really neat agates?
Your cabs are amazing! That last one looks like caviar on ice. You should submit it (or another) to the competition forum, just for fun, in a 'name that cab' contest. Love the opal stone, too! K

Great job on those, Joe. Really like the opal.
Karen, not dino turds. That would be coprolite. Not sure about how thundereggs are formed however. Sorry.

Thanx you guys! I found a link that goes into quite a bit of detail on Thundereggs. As Toad said, they're not dino turds and they're not like amber nor are they fossils! What they are is too much for a dummy like me to ever explain.Hope this link helps. www.zianet.com/geodekid/thndregg.htm
