OK, I'm going to buy a Workforce wet/dry tile saw. Unless there's a better option? However, I really, really need to retile my bathroom, so I thought I'd start there and do double duty. What I need to know, and I realize I could follow all the threads way back, but it seemed faster just to ask... is how do you all finish your cabs after you cut them? Can you cut AND shape on the WF? Can you tumble in a humble Thumler tumbler after cutting? How do you polish them? I have read up on previous threads about saws, thanks for that; I just need to know what do do after you cut? This is all Randy's fault, lol. He sent me rocks I can't, in all conscience, break with a hammer! Bless his darlin' heart!

You can cut and do some shaping on a WF - I believe all of Blarney's crosses and such are only shaped on a WF. You just use the diamond on the blade to carefully grind instead of cut.
These cabs here are shaped with grinders, generally from start to finish going through different grit stages on wheels or laps.
Randy's pendants are shaped with only one (or two?) grit wheels, and then tossed in a tumbler to finish off.

I do my shaping with one 100 grit green silicon carbide wheel on a standard Home Depot bench grinder after rough-cutting is done on the workforce, then tumbled in a thumlers vibe.

I personally cut with the WF saw- then shape the cabs with a progression of finer sanding belts (currently Silicon Carbide- but I have Diamond belts on order) starting with 100grit- and working to 8000 grit- then I put finishing touches with Diamond paste (14000 mesh and 50000 mesh) any that fail to make it that far (for whatever reason) get tossed into the 500 barrel- If you completly work a stone (cut off all the rough surfaces) you cab skip the 60/90 grit (and possibly the 120/220)
