Question on boulder opal in general. Is it sensitive to drying out like regular opal? I'd guess yes.
Nice job on the cabs.

Sweet stones! He did it again. You're kinda making a habit of this. A good habit!

I'm stunned! Even more than normal. That last one...there was a jeweler in the show Iwas in who'd set a boulder opal with about that much opal showing. Her silver work was great but I wish she could see the work you guys do. It's superb.

KD, I got the stuff from a friend. I don't think it was that expensive. Herm, that last one was just a natural no inlay. I think the top was the best quality too, just need to put a better polish on it.

Boulder Opal (like any opal) contains water- And some say it is prone to drying out- But there are some schools of thought that believe the boulder part of the boulder opal absorbs enogh atmosheric moisture to keep it from drying out- I had some boulder opal that was 10 years old- never put in water and never dried out- Oh Awesome stones there Tony!

Tony those are breath-taking!!! I love that Koroit look so inspiring!!! Oh and on the drying out, I was taught from a vetran Boulder Opal miner the same thing you said about atmosphere moisture and I can say with confidence that I have never had a Boulder opal craze like Virgin Valley or even Ligtening Ridge will craze, (Fracture)...Anymore Boulder Opal is the only type I will invest in...
