Since my girls are well again I am back cabbing. Here are my latest cabs. Amethyst agate from my trip to Letze area. Ruby in zoisite (from Budapest rock fair) My first egg. Silicified rodochrosite. Obsidian from Letze. Again. Some people just adore heart shaped cabs. Silicified rodochrosite. Letze amethyst. Rose quartz. Chrysoprase And now for something completely different. Rose quartz - it is so difficult to take a good pic of rose quartz. This one is relatively sharp but do not have adequate color. The next picture is unsharp but have adequate color. And finally my latest favorite - Fluorite from Serbia. I had one piece of fluorite since I was student. One colleague of mine gave it to me. It looked pretty unattractive. I recently found it, actually my wife wound it and asked me - what I am going to do with it. Meaning, if you don't act rapidly she'll throw it away. Of course I acted rapidly and saved it. When I cut this piece I was so pleasantly surprised. I expected nice but this is more then I expected. I love it. Excuse me for numerous pics. What can I say, I am addicted to cabs. Yes, and these are my first pics of cabs using homemade lightbox (there was a thread about it). Thanks for looking. Zoran

Love that rhodochrosite. It's a very pretty and unusual stone and I think you've posted the only pics I've ever seen....mel

Zotika, those are some great cabs and with V day coming up, hearts are a great idea. I've been making hearts as well. I think your last one is my fav but interested in a 'how-to' on the egg.

Zoran - The ruby in zoiste...wow! Don't think I've ever seen a nicer piece of material and it's a fantastic cab.

those are all stunning, but that fluorite is really spectacular! glad you acted quickly and saved that piece!!!
the heart shapes are perfect, i find those quite difficult on my Genie.
those are all great photos, too, that light box works well. you sure can make just about anything you put your mind to, Zoran!

Those cabs are fantastic!! Glad your family is better.. nothing worse than a sick child, makes us feel helpless. Any tips on getting such a fantastic shine on the fluorite? Any I've tried won't shine up as it's soft. Thanks for any advice. Dorothy

WOW
Every string I check lots of great work ;D; nice to know there are lots of talented people on this board. Nice heart shapes; those can be challenging; especially the nice shapes you did.

I love the ruby in zoisite! Such a strong pattern. How did you keep the softer zoisite from undercutting?
