I still have problems keeping cabs on a stick.I think I'm learning to be more gentle. Some of these need to go back for more grinding and crack sealing. But here's the way they came out late last night. HILLS AGATE NOT SURE TEEPEE CANYON WB II 282 1K NOT SURE

wow I love the patterns and colors, those all look nice. Have you tried holding the cab in your hands ot grind? I don't use dop and actually like the feel of the stone while I grind - give it a try.
Your 3rd one is my fav.

Those look pretty darn nice to me Roger. Are you grinding these out in a cold area, like your garage? If so, part of the reason they won't stick is because of the cold weather. They probably think they're in the freezer!

I had the same problem during a cold snap here a couple of weeks ago, I wound up giving it a break for a couple days after re-dopping everything like 3 or 4 times.
But once daytime temps got back into the 60's things work fine again.
You might try stoner's crazy glue dopping tactic.

Hey Fairburned...........You are doing great! The dop wax is a problem in the cold. I am in Western Montana and it was -12 last night. My work room is removed from the rest of the house and gets a little chilly but does not freeze. I usually warm the shop room up before I dop up. I have an old electric been pot element and 2 tuna cans on top one can is right side up and one is upside down. I put the wax in the right side up can and heat my stones on the upside down one. First I make sure the stone is very clean, I don't even touch the back as skin oils will wreck the bond. I keep the dopped stone in the warmer part of the house as it seems that even a small (say 20degree) temperature variation will loosen the stone. I also try to use warm water on the grinder. Keep up the good work................Bob
