Well I'm loving the Speed of the Diamond Belts (yes Stoner you were right again!) Here are some I finished up today Texas Pet Wood side 1 side 2 Rhondonite (just can't seem to get a good shot of it Red Jasper from Daniel And a Jasper Quartz Hematite from Jamie (the Jasper does not look as good in person as the pic turned out) And a Poppy Jasper (MH) Side 1 side 2 And From Argentina- A Patagonian agate (this stuff is AWESOME!) A moss Agate from Jamie (Fun Vug in this one- It kinda wanders through the whole stone) and A Dino Bone Some Jave Lace Agate (dead ringer for MO Lace- even has thr Red Line) and Some Boulder Opal (the Pics seem better than the cabs really are- the pits just don't show up in the pictures) Side 1- Finished Side 2- just in the rough (endcut) and Side one Side 2 (the mustard brown spot is a HUGE PIT) Thats all.

Those boulder o's look great! If you want to get rid of the pitting Ed will have the answer on that too. Nice angles too, good job.

Alright Stefan! Very nice cabs there my friend, and great pics! I love the Pet Wood especially the shape, and a few others that I really like are the Dino Bone (real crazy looking) and the MH Poppy, and of course the boulder opal is always fun to lok at. Looks like you've had a fun day. Thanks for posting the pics of your stuff. Steve

I see another satisfied customer of diamond belts. ;D I know what are you talking about Stefan. I bet we are going to see much more of your cabs. What belts you bought? Eastwind? Bay the way very good job. I don't see any pits so as far I am concerned there are not any . That Texas Pet Wood is my fav. Zoran

Hey Stefan,
Looking good ...
You should check that Patagonian Agate for the presence of the "Iris Agate" effect.
Use an incandescent light, hold the cab approx 18 inches away from the light source and check for the rainbow effect (every color of the rainbow). Try not to overload the cab with too much light ... if the light has a lamp shade, position the cab to where the light is just starting to come from under the lamp shade. Move the stone in and out from the light source as well as up and down ... do it slowly and see if this agate has the ability to diffract light into the individual colors of the color spectrum.
Good Luck and happy cutting!

Awesome looking cabs Stephan. It's about time someone posted some new cabs. They all look great but I like the MHPJ and the opals the best. So, it's a little easier to finish off cabs with the diamond belts? You'll never go back to the SC belts again. As for the pits on the opals, 2 words; Super Glue. Fill them up and let it dry and sand it off and polish it. It may take a couple of applications, but it works great.

It's just gettin' too easy, huh Stefan? Guess diamond's aren't just a gal's best friend. ;D That last boulder opal is super. I'm with Zot . . . can't see no pits from my house. Rich

Thanks all! Z- I got 3M belts- THey are about $10 cheaper than the Eastwind- I have a 400, 600, 1200, and 3000- I still do the rough with 100 and 220 SiC belts- Bear I'll check for the Iris effect- But I'm pretty sure this stuff is Iris free- If it does have it I'll let you Know! Guess I'm gonna try the super glue on the next set of Opals (hmmm I'm still on the course sanding- guess I'll grab an opal slab or 2)

Those are terrific. The petwoods look like dog bones. My dogs are salivating over them. Great work.

Great loooking batch Stephan. I like the pet wood and Morgan Hill pasper the most, but all look outstanding. I couldn't tell there were pits in the opal. It still made me drool. Please let us know how those 3M belts go (eg, how many cabs and what you think of them). I was thinking of those belts at one point. Steve

those are all nice stefan, very good to see your work again. Now the dino bone is very striking. I've been looking at getting me some but have yet to purchase any. Yours turned out very nice and it looks different from anything I've seen. The last BO is nice too and you did a good job on the pet wood, hoping that that was one I sent you.

Thanks ALL! These cabs were done over the course of a week (I wish I could knock em off in a day) Robert I'm not sure where the Pet wood came from- The boxes all got mixed up and I can't tell em apart anymore- But the slab it came from has been kicking around for a while so there is a good chance it was from you (or Dan). So far I like the 3M belts- but then the only thing I can compare them to is SiC belts-
