Well I've discovered I can take decent pictures in the sun, unfortunately I'd need that sun in the basement while I'm cabbing, cuz these still have scratches - I had a very very worn 220 belt that just got worse & worse as I was grinding, so there were still scratches as they progressed.
I figured, I might as well post pictures now, cuz these will probably be on the back burner for a while as I get others started on the diamond and I may not see them again
I've given up trying to dop them so I'm reajusting to doing this with fingers only
If photobucket reverses the order again - here they are
1 - Kims african lace - this stuff takes an awesome shine and this one is pretty good - has some vugs but I'll try to clean them out - can I use hydrogen peroxide to clean them out?
2 - WarrenA's tigeriron - I need a diamond polishing wheel to get a good polish on the hematite bands
3 - Banded brazilian - the face needs a better shining, but I like the shape & colors - looks like a sunset
4 - this is for my dads wrapped ring - he chose the stone but I'm a bit worried it may crack - I tried to pry it apart, but it looks like a crack - i would have preferred a diamond finish on this one too but what can I say - it's still very nice -
5 - This is some of Randy's green zebra - weird in that when wet it gets a pinky hue - not sure how to get that to stay once polished up
6 - a brazilian agate from the web - the white part is not flash, it's in the stone - this one needs to go back to the new 220 wheel
7 - Jamie's chysocolla (sp?) - I know I can get a shine on this, but I'll have to re-work this one again
8 - Randy's zebra again, this one took a fantastic shine - no re-do on this one, I love the shape & pattern on this one - chainmaille wrap on this one for me! - this is going on that chain I made for myself
9 - Green moss agate - I love this stuff - i was a bit worried the brown polish would get in the cracks, but it seems to have survived - this is a wrapper one too - might interchange with Randy's zebra
10 - "Here's looking at you kid!" With a pretty scratched up eye I might say - yeah this one is going back too - but I like the pattern - brazilian agate - now to find the rest of that piece - OOPS Montana agate - thanks Rockds
11 - finally, I like this stuff, first time I work with this - bloodstone - this stuff was shining before it got to polish - my first freeform that I'm happy with too - like the shape & cut -
Thanks for looking & pardon the scratches
