it finally got above freezing today and it was (almost) warm enough downstairs to sit at the grinder with the space heater and pre-warmed water in the trays. here are two cabs from Randy's pet store rock, which just goes to show you can find good sources of rock in some of the off the wall places. and two mexican lace cabs from a slab Stoner sent me a while back. the three larger ones are all 30mm x 22mm and the smaller one is 25mm x 18mm. close up of the lace: thanks for looking, more to come as long as the weather holds. KD

Glad to see you you thawing out K.D. Nice ovals on your cabs, do you use templates? I have a hard time making them. Pretty cool pet store rock, any idea what type it is?

He got those from a pet shop??? What kind of pet shop was it - a pet rock shop? Mine only have branches (unpetrified) and they cost an arm & a leg + a pet or two

I love crazy lace!! Tweety- Those are red jasper from "Animal Jungle". I also found another pet store less than a mile from me that sells Sodalite, quartz, slag glass and zebra stone.

I thought at first that the title was "Randy's pet rock." Those look way better than the pet rock I had back in the 70s. ;D
Nice job! I have to look around at more pet shops.
