i swear ice was forming on the tips of my fingers finishing these up. if Stefan smelled skunk, can spring be far behind? sure looks that way from my back window....anyway....here are some cabs: this is from a slab i got in one of BearCreeks moving auctions, i think someone (Mel?) ID'd it as dendritic opal (25mm x 18mm)? here is a piece of mahogony obsidian (25mm x 18mm) that Connrock sent me, the photo doesn't do it justice: here are a pair of 14mm x 10mm cabs of denim lapis i got on eBay that i'm hoping to make earrings out of: next up is a piece of ruby in zoisite (left) that was gifted to my by Stoner (first time i ever worked with this) and an unknown (right) kind of quartz-y stuff with green rutile???anybody have a clue what this might be, i don't even remember where i got it...the first photo is without flash, second is with flash to try and show the colors: and one with back lighting on the unknown: note the deep blanket of white in the background....i think i have a few more weeks to wait for Mr. Skunk. thanks for looking! KD

Love these! The dendritic opal has to be my favorite, but I'm going through one of those dendrite stages. Is it tourmilated quartz if it's not rutile? Is that what I'm thinking of?

Cool, break the unknown one open and let's smoke it! Excellent cabs KD. Really nice cut on the dendritic opal. And it looks like you got a great shine on the ruby in zoisite. That one always gives me problems. Good to see your work again.

ED!!!! Shame on you! KD- Smelled PePe again this AM- Haven't seen him yet- but he's around somewhere (yea probably laying dead in some snowbank!) Love the cuts- Not a "stinker" in the batch- I noticed on your domes that the sides seem to be narrower than the tops- is that just an optical illusion?
