Hi All,
I am currently having issues with my flat lap cabbing machine (brand name withheld for now). I am thinking of purchasing another machine for cabbing. I want something portable and fairly clean as I cab in my house, in the dining room. I know that many people like the Genie type ones but I dont mind having to switch out the wheels or laps and it saves $$$ on initial purchase price to.
I was thinking about the Graves Cabmate or CrystalMaster 6. Does anyone have one of these? Would you be willing to give me a review?
Thanks,
Shannon

Hi Shannon, and welcome. I haven't used either one of those machines but I have had issues with Graves to the point where I won't have any dealings with them. This happened about a year ago and maybe they took care of their internal problems by now, but the experience was bad enough that I won't ever do business with them. Good luck, maybe someone else will be able to give you first hand knowledge with these machines.

Hi Shannon, I have a Hightech slant cabber. I really like it. You need to change out the discs for each stage, but it's not a problem. I just do several cabs at a time, working through each stage. I think Kingsley North still carries these. You might be able to do a google search to find out. The place I bought mine stopped carrying them. I don't know why as it's a pretty cool machine. It's 12" x 12" self sustained. You could easily work on your kitchen table. I have the 8" unit, there is also a 6" unit. The eight gives you more space and your discs last longer. Doc gave me that advise. Here's a pic: Good luck with your choice. Tonja

I use a pixie which is a 6 wheel smaller version of the genie - it uses 4" wheels. I have mine set up in my office and it does throw a little mist but I wear an apron and all is well. Diamond pacific also make a 4 wheel version that's called bigfoot (I think) that may meet your needs but I would assume that it too would throw a little mist.
