Don't be shocked - all cabs start on 100 or 120 grit wheels. The higher grits just smooth and polish - all shaping is pretty much on the 1st wheel.
I hand-hold most and manage to bevel the edges or put a low dome. A few I dop up also I can get a better dome.

Get that Lady a Grinder!!!! Doesn't matter what brand- But put some Diamond belts on a drum for her and let her go to town!!! She is a natural and a HALF!!! AWESOME JOB!!!!!!

WOW. I've seen a few cabbing class and on a 6 wheel machine about half the people can't get a basic oval shape with a dome. And those on a bench grinder; all they need is a polish. Awesome!

Uh oh Jeremy. It's all over now. She into the cabbong thing now. There's no turning back. Might as well go buy a Genie for her and get it over with. She sure is a natural, and I hope you post photos of those after they get out of the vibe.

LOL... thank you all. Jeremy just told me to check out the cab section. I'm surprised by all the attention. They are pretty rough, I think. Hope the vibe will smooth em out good. Jeremy just ooooohed and aaaahed... ?? ... I guess I got something good going on here by all the responses. It will be a long while before I get a cab machine so I'll have to make due with hours on the grinding wheel and taped up fingers for safety. Thanks again for all the support. Joi

Well If I hit the Mega Millions tonight- I'll buy you a machine- heck with 355 million I think I might even pick myself up a new one too! Oh and make a trip to Woodward ranch (how cool would that be?)
