Hi All! This is my first time posting on the cabbing board.......Ive posted a few messages elsewhere on the RTH forum though. My name is Shannon and Im one of Shain's groupie's on the freeformcabs forum. I just recently started cabbing about 2 months ago. In that 8 weeks time my Inland All-In-Wonder died on me so no more cabs til my new machine gets here next week Anyway, here are a couple of photos of cabs Ive made. Please excuse the poopy photos....Im still learning on that as well. This was the very first cab that I made. It is Botswana agate. It reminds me of a sunrise. And here are three of my latest, the first is Regency plume agate, the second is green moss agate from Oregon and the third is the center of an unknown Mexican agate with a purposely left high girdle for a wire wrap project. Thanks for lookin! Shannon

Hi Shannon, glad you migrated over to the RTH board. There's a lot of good people here with a wealth of knowledge. Those are excellent looking cabs and they only get better with more experience. The unknown mexican agate looks to be a Laguna agate. Nicely cut too!

I hope your new cabber gets in soon so you are back up and cabbing. Those are sweet cabs! I like the botswana a lot. It looks edible. The moss agate is my favorite.
BTW, what do think of those inland cabbing machines? Is cabbing on a flat-lap type machine very different? I've always wondered.

Thanks again guys!
Steve,
See my Inland *Update* post on the vendor board.
As far as flat lapping goes. The hardest part is working with the hard laps. There is no give to them so it is very difficult to get your stones smooth with no flat spots, ridges etc. It can be done, it just takes alot of patience.
I figure after using a flat lap system, this new setup with grinding wheels and expanding drums should be a little easier to master.
