Here's my latest batch. Lots of fun and it went pretty smooth. I looked around for slabs I kept meaning to get to and kept adding to the batch. If this were a jeapordy catagory it would be "potpouri". Enjoy! Steve Big petrified wood. Crazy lace agate. This was a recut from a cabo-gonner. Turns out I like the new shape much more than the old one. Labradorite for Sis. She gave me this slab. Cutting labradorite is tough. It didn't help that it was a polished slab to begin with so the other ones kept flying off the dop stick. Purple chalcedony. Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper. Blue lace and Guadalupe jasper earring sized pairs Brecciated jasper Blue lace agate. Here's my first attempt at cutting Chrysocolla. My first impresssion was that it would be easy becasue it's so soft. Oh man was I wrong. It's like trying to make a cab out of a cube of butter. I had to come to a point of acceptance of lopsided shapes. If I kept going I fear I would grind them completely away trying to make them even. So lumpy they are. Very colorful but lumpy. I found they polished good. I broke out the 100K diamond paste and they polished right up. I decided to leave the green divot in the center of #2 and it turned out cool.

Nice set of cabs Steve. I like the shapes and the variety. You got a great shine on the MHPJ. Chrysocolla is nice stuff, but a little tricky to work with as you found out. Good to see your work again. It's been a while.

Thanks for the comments! That big petrified wood actually has a brother cabo-gonner and it nearly was. You can see a big fracture trying to start near the bottom. So this cab is just a looker.
Randy, I'm big on that brecciated jasper. I have a big chunk that I cab a little of every time. It's like an ongoing project for me.

Just beautiful. Very precise cut, great shine, great choice of pattern. I love them all, but my fav is the first one. Superb cab. And, yes, great photos.

Beautiful pet wood, and the cab looks lyke a landscape in sunset, with a tall tree in the left side. All the cabs are nice, but the petrified wood and the crazy lace are in my opinion exceptional.

Thanks, but don't say that too loud, Ed will hear you. He's the master cabber (though with that sweet jade cab of yours I don't know). Luckily Ed's probably lugging a bucket of rocks back the the campsite and not paying attention. Steve
