I managed to squeak one more out of my pixes worn belts. This is by far the favorite of the Big Sur jade I collect.

Ooooooooo Tony, that's really pretty. Hope you can keep squeekin' some out, or get some new belts soon. Got anymore of that beautiful boulder opal to do?

That jade is beautiful - I can see why it's your favorite color of what you pull up!
Is it just my monitor, or are the edges of that cab a smoky black? On my screen, the shape of the cab is perfect for the coloring. I love the total effect!

Thanks for the nice replies. Cher, I am still unsure what to do about the belts. I might go the retread route to see how good it works. On the B.O I sill have about 60 pounds to go through. They are all large pieces and have to slice up to see whats in there. Its really messy work and am taking a break from it for awhile. Akansan, this is is what I hope to find every time I go there. The outside to this was a completely ugly olive green color. Thats the color on the edges of the cab. I now know what to look for when diving for it. There are different shades of the blue and this type is the most brilliant and the hardest to find. Here is a example of one I am cutting right now. It has a small blue area inside the olive green outer layer.

WoW!! 60 pounds? That's exciting, you'll be making boulder opal cabs for a long time to come and I for one certainly won't get bored looking at them. I didn't know the boulder opal was messy, is it something like the hematite that looks one color then bleeds like crazy when you mess with it?

Thanks Cher you are too kind. The red ironstone gets all over the place and even stains your fingers. I stocked up on lava soap!

Tone-
That is a really cool color of blue. I can now see why you are so partial to it. Is it easy to work with?

Wow, that color is amazing! I'm glad you managed to get one last cab out. You certainly saved the best for last of those wheels. I like the green edges. That is a gorgeous cab. Given the things are warming up these days, it seems like good jade diving weather. Well, what do I know. I forget that the conditions above the water are not necessarily the conditions below the water. Steve
