Lately, I have had this urge to cut some picture jaspers, so I have been out shopping. Here are some slabs and some rough (soon to be slabs, they arrived this week) that will become cabs in the future. Just don't hold your breath for the cabs. My good buddy Stoner cuts more cabs in a single day than I can cut in weeks LOL. Succor Creek Another Succor Creek RockyButte Disaster Peak Owyhee Red Butte Bat Cave (I think Bat Cave is the name)

Nice material Cal. The second one looks like it got broken in an earthquake, shifted a little, and then got re-cemented back together. Okay, so where are the cabs? You posted these pics over 2 hours ago, you should have at least 1 cab done!!!!

I think I went a little overboard on the picture jaspers, but I have been looking since Christmas for reasonable priced rough. Some of the stuff goes for a really high price. If you are looking - Dale at RhodeCabbin on Ebay has a flat rate box for a Buy It Now price of $50. I would have bought it, but I already bought another flat rate box from Dale. Besides Succor Creek, it had Gary Green, and Owyhee jasper. I am going to try to control myself, unless I see some affordable Biggs, or Deschutes or Morrisonite LOL.
Kim, the Red Butte also goes by the name of Chinese Dendretic jasper. According to the seller, Red Butte is found near the Morrisonite mine(s) in Oregon.
To keep you folks from turning blue from holding your breath on the cabs, I'll be seeing Stoner next week with some of the slabs. You'll see them from Stoner sooner than me. The kids are keeping me hopping with baseball, softball, cub scouts, daisy girls (brownies?), and guitar practice. I find myself rushing home between ball games to cut a few slabs while doing some gardening before going to the next ball game!
Stephen, what are you finding that is so frustrating with picture jaspers?
