Man Stefan those are great! Really like the look and pattern of the Ohio ones. That last Ohio one looks like a centipede is racing down the edge. I hope this means that you are cabbing again on a regular basis.

Well Thank you all!!! The Ohio Flint is some pretty cool material- A bit deceiving at first cause it seems softer than most flints/chert- but it shines like the dickens and is really solid- and the fossils are solid also! These (along with the next batch) are going off to dtcmor but there are going to be plenty more coming up! I also have some in the tumbler and have been assured that it shines great out of the tumble too!!! Robert- Yea I'm trying to put in more cabbing time- it has been a battle- but I need that downtime- just me and the grinder- Lately it has been a real ZEN thing- I am really able to clear my mind- and just work the stones- Of course I was a bit miffed at the belt blowout- but they stupid things are under $10 so I'll get a new one ordered.

Those are great Stefan! Is that the chert from Dave? I have a couple pieces tumbling out of a nice big box he sent. Looks like I need to do some cutting on them.. the fossils are outrageous!!

Wow Stefan! Those are shaping up great! I've been away for a while and just caught this thread - I can't believe how you got those fossils to come out like that - it's amazing! I have to get a grinder unit now - you've got me wanting to cab up some of my own!
Fairburned - I don't know too much about knapping - only what I have found doing research on this flint, so I don't know if this will work or not. The better grade Flint Ridge Flint from the southern part of the state would probably be better for knapping.
