So, I have a WF saw, recently purchased, still in the box because it's been too cold outside. Next question: Once you shape your potential cabs, what do you all do next? My reason for asking: I've got an older model 3-drum (wheel?) grinder/polisher piece of equipment which I intend to purchase from an older gentleman here in my area. Don't know the brand or anything else (it was basically buried, and all I could see were the 3 grinder wheel thingies, which were horizontal, rather than vertical like I have seen in my recent research, unless he had it crammed in the shelf sideways). When I asked him about it, wondering if I could make cabs etc. with it, he adamantly said YES! And, apparently, you can also facet with it, depending on what's on the drums?. When I specifically asked about new belts or what exactly was necessary to get it in running condition, he poo-pahed belts and said it does need new 'diamond paper??'. And then he mentioned 'polish' as a noun rather than a verb. So, anyone have any insight? Got any advice about what questions I should ask next? Got any pix of your older (25+ years) grinders so I could compare and have a clue when we go back? Thanks!

I really am not the one to ask, but it sounds like a cab machine, and I'm drooling at the thought it. Probably should take pics of it so people can get a better feel for what it looks like. I'm interested in seeing it... but then I'm still dreaming of my own cab machine!! haha

Here is my old Lortone (probably 25 to 30 yrs old) Best advise is to check out the machine carefully- grab the shaft and try to wiggle it- ANY freeplay at all is NO GOOD- also take a close look at the wheel configuration and detirmine what it is gonna need (hard wheels, expandable drums, polish heads ect.) Also if you can a couple pictures and post them here we can look at it and offer ideas and advise.
