My middle name is not Mr. Happy today. I cleaned a barrel from 500 to put into pre polish, there were 10 or 12 cabs in it. Here are 5 that have to be reworked: shown dry, There is one more that I don't even want to show (The top middle and right are freeform). Nine days in 220 not a problem kept their shape, four days in 500 and you can see what happened. The only difference is that I used beads in the 500 stage. I have waited a long time for a wwr filled barrel to get out of 60\90 so I could add the cabs I have been making, held my breath through 220 then relaxed thinking they would be fine. I barely have the money to buy a GP-6, but High school graduation is in two weeks and my parents 50th anniversary a week after that, Not to mention Child support every other week. So I am now creating the "Stop Mark from whining fund" donations can be made at any bank or salvation army. Just kidding and venting to those might understand. Spike

Okay, 50th anniversary I can understand, but graduation, since you're paying support anyway, let her buy the graduation gifts!

What kind of beads did you have in? I have some crosses in AO right now. They made it through all the other stages; hope I don't have any problems.

Naw Ed, they/she are my babies. If you knew everything you would have been serious.
Spirit they were regular floating beads from rockshed, but they were new. I have used the same kinds of beads for pre and polish with no problem. What really gets me is the ones that were worn the worst were the hardest to shape (the pom pom pendant shown and the cab not) on the 100 sc wheel. Maybe that is what is getting to me, they were the ones I had the most confidence in, I had a picture Jasper cab and pendant in the same batch, they did not have a problem. The only reason I put beads in was because of the fracture in the pom pom pendant.
I held four cabs back until I could get a machine for various reasons, wish now it had been more.

Really sorry to hear & see your results after how confident you must have been. Though I'm very happy to hear that you do pay your child support payments. My new wife's ex moans every month & is only paying $382 for two kids (which I'm basically supporting now) however, & this really gets my goat. He wants them to call me 'step~dad'. I'm fine when I pay all of the dental, medical insurance, glasses, extra toys & school material, but, when it comes to being the "DAD" He apparently seems to think that only biology makes a true Dad. Not one that takes care of & nurtures the children when they really need it. Hang in there, you may come up with a surprise when you least expect it. Stay positive & kudos to you for being a responsible father & Dad. Last

Not trying to parade the Child support thing, that was figured into my grinder time line. Just wasn't thinking aboiut the upcoming things, thought I would have one ordered this week or next. Then the previous success of tumbler polishing did not happen and I had to complain to someone, guess you guys were it.

Dang.. that's a shame about the cabs Mark. I've never had problems with uneven wear after 120/200. I think it's pretty strange it would happen in 500. I guess the difference was the pellets? I use RockShed floaters in each stage and never had a problem. I wonder what happened?
You'll get your grinder bud.. I'm waiting to get one too..

Sorry all, it has not been a good day (I am ready to take the one I did not show down to the swollen river and skip it the length) with either rocks, G ma. or my exwife from 12 years ago. I am about ready to go running naked down the street throwing rocks at the British (hmm is that a Braveheart thing to do? will have to look it up first). So to keep from embarassing myself further I am signing off for the night.
Bye bye and buy bonds.

I don't understand that at all. There's really no shaping when you get to 500 and I can't see any way the pellets would have cause anything like that, I mean they are just plastic. I'm sorry they were screwed up like that, it's really disappointing when that happens.

I don't understand it either Cher, that is what got to me. The pom pom and the brown moss agate were neck and neck with Jamies black and yellow pet wood when it came to hardness, I have never tried to shape anything harder but yet the Jasper in the same barrel were fine.
So here is where I apologize for my melt down. The day was bad, real bad and I guess I just kind of vented on Y'all. I have had a few pm's checking on me so figured I had better respond here as well. Today is better, Grandma apologized first thing this morniing, and when my ex wife stopped by for extra money while on her way to a event her hair looked like she had been electrocuted so all in all a pretty good day!!
The rocks were just the last straw that broke the bald guys back. BTW Susan after I turned off the computer I had three, neat.

Eeek, rough break on those. If it's any consolation, my easter egg pendant got a bit distorted in the prepolish stage as well, but not quite as much as yours. It's in the final wash cycle right now so if I have time I can maybe take the final pics of it tonight...?
