It is time for me to buy some more soft wheels. I have been using 4 inch Nova wheels from Diamond Specific. I think they are a bit pricey and am hoping there is an alternative that is similar in quality, but not as expensive. The cheapest I found the nova wheels was a rockpeddler they sell a discounted 4 pack that you can choose any four nova wheels for a set price. Any info would be appreciated.

Hey Larry, I can give you first hand advice on this subject. I too decided that the Nova wheels were a bit pricey(I use 8" wheels) so in September of last year I decided to try one of the flex wheels offered by Kingsley North. These wheels are similar to the Nova Wheels in that the have a plastic core with a foam backed sanding surface. They are made by Eastwind Diamond products. My advice is simple;DON'T DO IT!!!!! Here's why. I have been using a 280 Nova wheel for 2 1/2 years now, and although it is well worn, it's still working, it just takes longer to do the job. The flex wheel I bought in September of last year is a 325g diamond wheel, and by March of this year it was already worn through the in about 75% of the wheels surface. They use the equivilant of a sanding belt over the foam backing, whereas the Nova Wheels are impregnated with diamonds and will continue to work until they fall apart. It was a costly mistake on my part and I don't want you or anyone else to make the same mistake. Stick with the Nova wheels.

Are you anti-ebay? The Rock Pile (woodsicle) on ebay sells the 4" individually for about the same price as that 4 pack - $67.

Woodsicle (Ebay) has a 4-pack for $255. I haven't bid on any of his Ebay listings, but I did buy my big rock saw from him. He was located fairly close, so instead of paying for shipping, I picked up the saw myself.
Paul is a really nice guy. We chatted for an hour an half. How come conversations with rockhounds never take less than an hour LOL.
