Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what the collar width should be on a cab to go in a pre made setting?

Man Dave, that's a tough question as all those factory made settings seem to have different widths of bezel or different length prongs. I've even encountered different measurements in the same lot from the same supplier. Even different sizes where a supposedly 30x40 setting wouldn't take anything near a 30x40 cab. I usually check all my settings individually and cut my collars, and sizes to fit. Average collar is probably around 1/16 " or 2 mm or so but I like them beefier and closer to 1/8 " for strength if the mount will take it.....Mel

A little oversized won't hurt (like Mel said) but a bit too small and your stone will be prone to chipping!!
