This moving stuff is really starting to get to me, too many things to do and I'm running out of time. So I decided I needed to play with some rocks. Here are 3 different shots of a Labadorite cab. Mystery stone Jeremy sent me. The photo doesn't show the mica type flashes in it. Hopefully he can tell me what it is. Carneilian Another Carnielian, 3 different shots. A Dryhead Agate. These next 2 are a mystery stone sent to me by a member of the etsy.com site. Any clues on what they may be? She said they were dug up in the Chicago area. This one has silver spots all through it. Thanks for looking.

A good way to relive stress, cutting stone! The bottom two look like jade to me. Nice looking stuff.

All are very nice but I like those two carnelians best, especially the darker one. That one is VERY nice. Great stress relieving work!

First mystry stone looks a lot like a garnet/mica/schists complex- very flashy stone- last one is might be an Iron Range Greenstone (basically a ryolite or basalt base rock) the silver spots are probably pyrite or mica- Very nice stones BTW- Make me wish I had a couple spare hours to spend behind the grinder!! (OK thats it- tonight I'm gonna do some laundry and fire up the grinder!!!)

Ed I have no idea what stone it is. I got it out of the rock pile at my local rock shop. I sent it to ya cause it fell apart in the vibe. I am glad to see you were able to do something with it.

Note to Mrs. Ed: When it's time to move the cabbin' machine, tell Ed "Oh, that'll fit in the back of MY car. There's a perfect spot for it." Otherwise . . . . . ;D ;D
Jonje's mystery stone and the green with silver spots just nose out all the others. Sweet batch, Ed.

I am sooo glad the unknown that we sent you shined up for ya. We couldnt do anything with it and it really is an awesome stone that the picture doesnt do it justice. I'm thinking the labradorite is probably the same? Looks amazing but I'll bet it's even better for real. Nice cabs!!

Thanks everyone. No other ideas on what the last 2 green stones could be? They are from the the Chicago area. The carnielian is from an auction I won a long time ago. A jewelry maker on etsy asked me if I would cut a couple of carnielian stones for her for a customer, so I did! J and J, I'll send this cab along with the others so you can see what it looks like in person. I cut this cab from a small chunk that fell off the bigger one, so I'm sure if I cut into the bigger stone, I'll get some better cabs.
I haven't had time to pack up my shop yet, that will happen next weekend.
