Hope you like them: I cut three of the six or seven rocks I bought this week. Spike

how did you like working with this? i find it soft and a bit tricky, but really nice when polished.

Loved it, I hid the 80 grit wheel from the rocks, and barely used the 220 after shaping. The only trouble I had was cutting one that was very lacey, it just fell apart on the saw.

like most stones, there are some that are better quality material than others. that stuff (rhodochrosite) tends to be a bit pricey....have you surfed around to see some of the finished jewelry prices it's fetching?? outrageous!

Well now I just found another stone that I love!!!! Beautiful cabs, especially the sensuous free-form.

Nice shapes Spike, I think I like the freeform the best. Does that one have a crack through it? I read the article Dan mentioned, very interesting.

Thanks everyone, the freeform doesn't have a crack, I looked again after I saw the pic. guess it is just the way the camera sees it.
It took me a hour and half to pick out the six or seven pieces I bought. I bought some pretty cool green moss that I was going to cab a couple of pieces of at the same time, but decided not to mix hardness. I may do them today.

Excellent job!
I've accumulated a few pounds of Rhodo, including some of the pink gel, but I'm not touching any of it until I get a lot more experience on the saw and get a cabbing machine. It goes real nicely with Charoite or Sugilite.

Yes! Yes! I like them very much. I think I just chipped a tooth trying to bite into one of them. They look like candy. Great job Mark.
