Here's a mixture of the batch from today and the previous one. I've been trying to find a good cabbing/wire wrapping ballance but today it was all cabbing. It was very meditative to spend the better part of an afternoon in from of the machines. Here's what came of it (with some from the previous batch I don't think I posted). I hope you like them. Steve Chrysocolla from Jamie: Dryhead: Amethyst and unknown agate with a crystal filled center. It goes all the way through the cab! The tough part was getting the wax out. Poppy jasper from a rock hunt: Here's the "another new find", a variation on the poppy jasper from the first rock hunt. This time I visited a spot nearby. The background of the poppies is almost metalic looking. Pet wood and the uh-oh. This is the first opal I've cut. "Uh-oh" meaning what have I gotten myslef into. I'm probably hooked. This one is from Ed.

Wow I love the shapes! Boulder opal is the worst. Once you start its over, there is no other like it. You will love chasing fire tho.

Those are some fantastic shapes. Each one seems perfect! The stones are marvolous also. I vote for the dryhead.

Steve, Looks like you became One with the Machine today. Very nice cabs and shapes. The 2nd pic of the poppies is so nice. The dark green background with the bright red is stunning, a Christmas Cab for sure. I also like the Dryhead...the shape and the bandings is my kind of thing. Glad you got to do a little cabbing. Steve

Fantastic cabs Steve. It's about time you posted some cabs. The Chrysocolla looks really nice and the poppies are very cool. Uh-oh is right, the koroits are very addictive. I gave you that piece? What was I thinking? Just kidding. You found a nice area to cut a cab from.

Wow, those are some real beauties! What's the difference between Dryhead and Teepee Canyon? Are the locales close to each other?
Very nice Steve!

WOW - those are all beautiful - I thought when I saw the first ones - they were going to be my favorite - then I saw the second picture and I thought - oh it's going to be close - from there on out I just gave up... Those are all stunning! The opal, the poppies, the chrysocolla, all of them - I'm going back for seconds! *wave*
After a third or fourth pass - that dryhead is just stunning. It really stands out to me. Beautiful work shaping and catching the essence. Thanks for the pictures - sometimes they just make me smile with the beauty of the rock.
