First, please pardon the slightly out of focus pictures. Once my shelves are completed, my picture taking will have an actual home. (Yeah!) Next - these are mainly bits and pieces I've had laying around. My WF is currently homeless as my shed is being revamped, so I'm stuck grabbing slabbettes (or dropping slabs on the concrete to get smaller pieces ). Right now, the only room I have available in there is where my grinder stands. A couple of these I've had through the 220 but hadn't moved them to the sanding and polishing wheels yet. Red Moss Picture Jasper of Some Kind Chrysocolla Crazylace - I'll try to get a better picture of it Wood - was a nice wood round with those little orbs around the edges. The rest ground off in the doming stage. Orange Breccia from soneome...I'm thinking of taking this one to the WF once it's available again. It's a clunky shape right now. Indian Paintstone Rainforest Jasper Swazi Bloodstone Petrified Bog - this one had a section that wasn't quite as petrified as the others, hence the shape.

Very nice Ronda. Love the shapes. If you're getting those shapes from dropping the slabs on the concrete, don't bother with using the WF!

Wow Ronda you got those shapes just by dropping the rocks on the floor? I've been going about this business all wrong. I'm gonna go home and make like a Greek wedding.

Wow! Great bunch of cabs. I think my favs are the orange breccia and the Indian Paint Rock. Looks like you got a good shine on the Paint Rock too and that is a tough material to polish!.....Mel

Thanks everyone! The Indian Paint doesn't have a high gloss shine on it, but it does shine. That one and the Swazi Bloodstone are probably my favorites. The Swazi has flecks of hematite (?) in it that just glitter when held to the light.
These were a color break from red...mostly. I have an order for a couple pieces that can be worn on game day by teachers (we're red, black, & white (or silver)), so I've been sorting through slabs for red and black. I stumbled on the Swazi by happenstance, but it's just perfect!
Anyway, so don't be surprised if the next post has a variety of reds & blacks.

Great batch of cabs Arkansan! I like the brecciated one particularly. THe photos make it hard to see, but what kind of polish did you get on that paintstone and how did you get it? I am having the hardest time getting it to polish even when I went up to 100K diamond paste. Steve

It's shinier than matte, but not exactly glass. I use diamond paste on resin belts for 1200 & 3000, then I have a leather end plate with 14k and 50k. After cabbing last night, though, I'll be taking the end plate off and just using resin belts for 14k and 50k as I'm still not happy with the shine from the leather. I can't tell any noticeable difference after 3000 sometimes. I'll be taking a couple of these back through the last two stages tonight to see if that makes any difference.
