Well I discovered my dopping problem. and decided to try my luck again
My coffee warmer only heats up to about 75 F (I think and can't remember exactly)- but it's no where near the temperature needed completely melt the green dop wax - I did somehow manage to dop a few stones with this crappy wax anyways but then...
I pulled out my last 2" piece of green wax and started melting this in my coffee warmer put on a 20 minute timer (and went off to play the Sims 2) - I then returned and found much sticky stuff, and then placed the whole contraption on a tin plate on the stove top - waited (unpatiently I might add) and this time the wax got all melty!
I managed to dop the remaining stones this way (burning my wet fingers in the process) - the stones stayed on - this may be my new method - I'll see if I can reproduce the results again or if it was a fluke
Tonite I will post pictures of my cabbing endeavors - be warned - there are about 20 or more

I always wondered if those cheapo 4-6 cup mini coffee makers with the small hot plate would be a good "poor man's dop pot"...

LCARS mine is even worse than that, it's the little single cup warming plate that you put your cup on to keep your coffee warm - even more cheapo
