Well, I couldn't talk myself out of buying some of this Royal Sahara Jasper. I think there are a lot of great materials in the 7-15 dollars range. Also, with some slabs and a few materials I guess I gonna have to pay to play. After working up the RSJ I think it is pretty unique. I don't have the experience some of the cabbers on the board have, but I haven't seen a material that packs so much in to such a small space, takes a great shine and doesn't have issues (pits, cracks, soft spot etc.) The pics I got 4 cab size slabs out of this nodule. In order of cut. All cut parallel to the face. the backs of the two that aren't worked up yet One cab Close up I am still working on the first smaller one; it may look done, but I am not happy with it.

Fine minds think alike I was going to post my nodule and the blanks I cut out of it. YOurs looks really nice like mine. I was impressed at how good it looked inside after I cut it. It wasn't so impressive on the outside. I think it was well worth the money (I got a markdown one too). And they sent me an extra. It was small but I got 4 slices out of it too. The material is so fine grained, and the color is so finely blended it really is a special kind of rock. Your cabs are great and I'm glad to see they will give such a nice shine. I need to get busy on mine. T

Nice cabs Larry. You guys are right when you say this material is such a pleasure to work with. I don't think I've seen a bad cab yet. Even the plain one I cut for my first cab had some nice features around the edges. So they sent you an extra piece Tony? Hmmm....

Excellent cabs and material Larry. No cracks or pits? That would be nice for a change. One of these days I will have to pick some up.

Thanks everyone.
Stoner; these aren't as nice as yours, but I hoping some of the others nodules will produce those killer patterns. I did buy one of the ones you recomended; I post pics of it when I work it up. I did this one first because it seemed like the easiest one to slab. I am saving the ones that look more promising for when I feel more confident with how to slab it. The image on the two inner slabs was a surprise. The faced side looked like abstract art.
The next one I cut I will cut several different ways and post pics of the different pieces.

Very nice work. I could stare at that finished cab for hours, wondering what's over that horizon. Sweet.

Nice cabs, Larry. The second one looks good turned on its side, too.
