I never see any pet wood cabs. I'm here to rectify that situation. Now, my cabbing efforts are questionable, but ya got to admit there's some pretty stones here. I just love this Snakewood? ! C'mon guys, let's see some real cabs outta pet wood. Curt

Curt - those are great cabs man, anyone who can shape pet wood without growing old is doing well in my book (I'm not having a dig, but I'm going crazy waiting for my tumbles to finish even the rough stage!! ). I really like the range of patterns in your Snake wood, they remind me of photos from deep space, star fields and nebulae etc... It does amaze me the range of colours and patterns I see in pet woods, they really are a rainbow pallet. You've certainly got the knack with cabbing, I'm sure you said you started recently, and as I've never cut one myself, I can only wonder in amazement when I see the standard of finish your achieving right now. Stoner - Well that's some seriously drool inducing artwork Sir, a pleasure on the eye, as always The huge range of textures and patterns is only amplified when I scroll through the amazing cabs you've posted. It's always a little humbling when you see a craftsman showing his skills, thanks for sharing your talents. It's good to have somthing to aspire to, and I'm definately going to have to have a go, I just looks like too much fun! Cheers All, Harry.

That snakewood is some intersting material.....the last cab is a bueat and looks like palm.Do you suspect that it may be a variety of palm wood?

Ed, those cabs are awesome, and
that big gap is my jaw dropping on the "enter" button when I saw that beautifull Arizona wood!
Oh, and

Cheers All, Harry. Thanks Harry I've always said that those slabs/cabs look like the universe. My photography sucks and they look much better in person. As far as tumbling wood, civilizations can and do flourish, decay, and crumble during the grind cycle of pet wood. Hang in there, when it's done, you will have some beautiful polished rocks! Thanks John! Get'er done! Brad I'm very confused right now about what is snakewood and what is palm. The last looks like palm, but I don't think it is. I'm going to try to go to Houston to see an expert soon and maybe he'll get me straight. Yup Adrian, I've got to try it all. Maybe one of these days I'll get in a groove and just do one or two things. :-) Beautiful cab Brad! I just love the patterns wood has in it. They are endless. I would probably just go completely crazy looking at RSJ. Curt

Good work Curt. Now you need to make a cab out of non-petrified snakewood to go with your collection.

Great work, Curt. I've got a piece of that snakewood that is driving me nuts in the tumbler. It keeps cracking and pitting. I'm waiting till I have a grinder of some sort, see if I can salvage it that way.
So, are you coming to the Houston Gem show?

Matt Yup, a lot of it has pits and cracks. It's much better to cab rather than tumble.
I'm goung to try my darndest to go to the show. I'll have to wait a little longer to be sure. I'm really wanting to meet you guys and I desperately need to talk to Scott Singleton.
