After the recent discussions on dopping, I realized I can really up my quality and quantity on my cabs if I dop from start to finish. So, I dug through my preforms, set up about fifteen on dops, and jumped in. Among those I set up were two of the Iris Agate preforms I bought from BearCreek during his liquidation. They've been sitting in my drawer of cabs for when I became more proficient. While I still feel less than proficient, I decided to go ahead and try. I haven't seen a lot of Luna Agate recently, so I thought I'd post a couple. And finally, a couple pieces from Robert (rockds): Picture Tigereye Idontknowite - this has a nice spot of blue in the upper corner

The 2 agates are top shelf cabs, the one on the right is fantastic.I am a Luna agate hoarder and your right the stuff is getting hard to find, there is some pale white material out there but the good violet material is not easy to find. I believe your Idontknowite is possibly Succor Creek Jasper,it has all the earmarks of it.

I got some picture tiger-eye from Kim - it just shines up awesome and the images are fabulous - I really like yours too - though it is hard to get the hematite to polish up nicely - yours looks nicely done
Dopping is the best way, more control over the stick and you can rotate the cab on all angles much better - until mine go flying off

I like all of them but the first one really caught my eye - both the teardrop shape and the pattern!

Excellent cabs Ronda. You're right about dopping, you have much better control of the dome and getting all the scratches and flat spots out. Those 2 preforms are awesome. Your picture tigereye looks like Marra Mamba to me.
I'd say you're very proficient at cabbing these days.
