Ok, Ive got just one more question and then I will try to leave you's guys alone for awhile.
Ive got a few agate cabs that Im working on that have druzy on them. I usually use cerium for polishing agates. Will the cerium stain my pretty druzy? Is there a way to cover the little druzy cavities while polishing? I think someone suggested to me once to use putty or something but I would think that would get stuck to all of the little druzy crystals.

I have put candle wax in small geodes so that they will stay together while I slab them. Heat, drain and clean with acetone. Bob

Sugar works. KD has had success using sugar, so when she see's this, she will describe the process. I don't have any problems using diamond paste.

BearCreekLapidary revealed his secret of the druzy to me. and yes, it's sugar. place the stone on a flat surface, fill the cavity right up to the top with sugar and then dop and polish per usual. when you remove the wax (i put my dop sticks in the freezer) the sugar will rinse off/melt in warm water. you may want to save an old toothbrush along the line to scrub any other specks or dirt out of the druzy. hope this helps!
