Ooooh, I like all of them, maybe especially #1. No, maybe #2. What are they?

Great shine John. Do you use extender? I've got my belts and paste now but haven't had a chance to try them out yet.

Thanks all, Lady B, Grow up? I'm 16 with 31 years experience. Stefan, I like the paste. Not as messy and some rocks need a little heat! Amy, 2nd one is mozarkite, bottom two are wood and the first I don't know. Tony, I forgot to order extender and so I used wd-40. Seemed to work! john

I like very much the shape of the 2nd and the 4th, that last one is my favorite. It almost looks transparent in its upper right corner.

Very sweet John. Do you use a leather or resin belt? Daniel

any directions, hints or tips on using diamond past to polish?
do you use a commercially prepared past or can you make it up with diamond bort?
what kind of wheel or lap are you using?

Looks like you've been converted to a diamond paste believer. I haven't come across a stone yet that won't take a polish using the paste. You really don't need to use the extender, however, after a while you'll find the paste isn't working as well as when it was first applied. I just use a silicone spray and give it a shot and it rejuvinates the paste. I believe the extender is silicone based, it's just more expensive because it is used for lapidary. You can buy silicone spray at Home Depot.
Nice cabs John.
