Howdy folks! Been working a few stones through the fun factory this week as time has permitted. Finally slapped a polish on 'em last night and took a few crappy pics this morning and a few more this evening. The first couple were collected on our Alamo Lake trip Plume Agate from Lincoln Ranch Backlit a bit An unknown from Toad. I call it Toad Stone Dendritic Opal Blue Calcite maybe? The next four were collected near Saddle Mountain last weekend Jasp-agate Moss A neat little plume. I found a few of these that were in small wafers and just a little thicker than a quarter. A bit of grinding on both sides 'n voila. Can you see the mushroom? Red Jasp with some agate running through. I just could not get a good pic of this Luna Blue Rhodochrosite Brenda Graveyard maybe? Royal Sahara Thanks for looking!

You've been busy Brian. I didn't know it snowed in the Sahara desert! Nice cabs on some nice material. I really like the Brenda and the rhodocrosite.
So, are you using the Raytec belts now? Have you formed an opinion?

Ed I broke in the new belts with this batch. Actually used a couple old cabs to do the breaking in.. and a couple belts didn't get 'broke' all the way as I noticed scratches appearing out of nowhere on a couple of these. I had to re-break and re-sand a bit. Now I'd say they be broke in lol
Yes, these Raytechs are a LOT easier to work with. They slip on and off easier and the color coding kinda breaks up the monotony a bit lol. I'd say the were a good investment.

Brian, the photos and the cabs all look great! If you want a way to cut that glare, consider getting a CP (circular polarizing) filter for your camera. Once you figure out how to find the sweet spot with it, you can dramatically cut horizontal glare in all your shots. The only drawback is you'll need twice the exposure time with the filter on which isn't really a big deal when it's 1/125s vs 1/250s shooting outside in direct light.

Right up there with the usual great quality of your work. Great variety also. I think I'm leaning toward the jasp-agate as my fav. Its a tough choice though.
