I can never remember if these are bolo ties or bola ties *L* Anyway, was looking for something to wear with my cowboy outfit for Halloween and stumbled across these two ties. Now I just have to decide which matches my outfit more. Don't think I've showed them here before so here ya go. Thanks for looking....Mel A tumbled Coyamito Agate eye on a deer horn crown I scrounged from my dad's old taxidermy shop. Hornitos Jasper from a piece of the old Flora find I got off my neighbor at the ranch across the road from our place. His dad was a gold miner and removed a single pod of this jasper that weighed over 2 tons back in the 60's and it sold for 50 cents a pound back then. Wow! Those were the days!

Mel, How can we decide if we don't see the whole costume!?! They are both really fantastic... Steve

Ummm wear the first one and send the second one to me! I think a bolo tie is for a man, and a bola tie is for a woman. I could be wrong ... it's happened before.

*LOL* OK don't know if the whole cowboy rig is gonna work after all. Just got out my fancy boots to polish them and man do they smell like horse! I mean really smell!!!! Now I know why the the time I got in a limo with them on the driver was giving me a funny look. I thought I smelled something a little horsey but my nose was bad cause I was getting a cold. My nose is just fine now and whoo eeee do those boots reek of horse sweat. Kinda like the smell myself but I guess I need to get out the Febreeze and give it a try cause those puppies smell like a horse what's been rode hard and put away wet!!!!.....Mel

Two cool ones there, Mel. The history of the bola is in the latest Rock & Gem (Dec).

Very nice. They are actually "Bola" but almost everyone says "Bolo".

Got my Rock and Gem and read the article. Bola it is and I had no idea these were a fairly recent invention. I shoulda known better as a blade hobbiest as a bolo is a type of knife....Mel
